PrefenzBotanicals inactivates and kills pathogens through the process of lysis, wherein contact of the pathogens cellular wall with the Prefenz film produces cellular wall disruption. The contacting cellular wall is broken or ruptured and the microbe is no longer able to control its internal hydrostatic pressure, resulting in implosion or explosion of the species, depending on ambient pressure. No transfer of chemical or chemical residues occurs during this process. The Prefenz film is not depleted and will continue to lysis cells. There is no increased pathogen resistance to Prefenz on subsequent exposure and no increased mutagenicity.

Q: Should I really use Prefenz just once a day?
A: Yes, PrefenzBotanicals is proven to provide long lasting germ protection for at least 24 hours or 10 hand washings. If you wash your hands more than 10 times in a day, we would suggest using PrefenzBotanicals again. If your skin did not shed, this product could last upwards of 10 years. But, since your skin regenerates every 60 hours, you have to reapply. Washing the hands does speed up the process.
